Architect (Ref. No. TECH0805-01)

BET&R is currently seeking an Architect (Washington, Alaska, or Oregon licensed preferred) experienced/interested in building envelope design and technology.  Candidate should be self-motivated, diligent, and conscientious, with a solid technical background in roofing, waterproofing, or cladding and fenestration, who desires to apply his/her skills and abilities to a broad base of clients.  Those passionately interested in, or with an affinity for the technical and practical aspects of building exterior design and construction would be a good fit for this position.

Minimum of five years of construction management/building exterior practice/experience a plus.  Position entails technical design review, specification and drawing review and preparation, conducting field surveys, providing project coordination, and preparation of evaluation and detailed inspection reports.  Ability to serve as expert witness for litigation and review laboratory tests a bonus.  Position requires regular collaboration with staff technologists from roofing, waterproofing, and cladding sections to work on both new construction and retrofit projects.  Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in a variety of software applications.  Excellent opportunity for advancement and managerial position, compensation based on qualifications. 

Engineer (with mechanical or structural background) (Ref. No. TECH0805-02)

Senior Roof Technologist and/or Designer (Ref. No. TECH0805-03)

BET&R is currently seeking a Senior Roof Technologist and/or Roof Designer.  The qualified candidate will have an extensive background in the roofing industry, be knowledgeable of all low-slope membrane roof assemblies, and have superior communication skills.  Position requires writing comprehensive evaluation reports and specifications, as well as preparing presentations to relay technical information to clients.  Duties will also include conducting roof surveys and leak investigations, as well as peer review of Architects’ specifications and drawings.  May include project management and review of other Technologists and Monitors’ field reports and work product.  RRC, certified building envelope consultant, architect or engineer qualifications preferred.  Computer literacy (Word, Excel) is a requirement, and CAD experience is a plus.  Familiarity with email and digital photo manipulation helpful.  Pay commensurate based upon experience.
