The beach-front Eagle Harbour Condominium complex in Bainbridge Island, Washington was constructed in the late 1970s. When the HOA decided to carry out a series of updates and repairs to the complex’s exterior envelope, they engaged BET&R to act as their consultant for the ongoing project. BET&R’s initial services for the project included a comprehensive evaluation survey to facilitate understanding of the work required, and prioritize and plan for carry out of repairs. Based on this survey work and subsequent recommendations, the HOA chose to engage BET&R to prepare the design documents for recladding and waterproofing of the building, and to provide on site monitoring of retrofit work and address technical questions on site. BET&R’s involvement spanned over three years, encompassing the original reclad and waterproofing work, as well as deck repairs, window replacement, and exterior wall coating projects, and included acting on behalf of the HOA in coordination with the Architect and AIA contract review.
